I wore the vest over a sweatshirt and under my winter coat at an NFL game with temperatures in the 20's and was definitely warm. I was surprised at how lightweight this vest was. You would definitely not be able to wear it without the heater for warmth as there is no insulation in the vest itself. It was easy to turn on and adjust the temperature setting. I had it on low and the battery was fine for over 4 hours, with plenty of battery power left. I downgraded it one star due to the lack of insulation. It really can only be worn running the battery if you want to use it for warmth.
