Heated Chairs & Portable Heated Seating

Sitting still is what makes you cold. Heated chairs and stadium seats put warmth where you're in contact with the cold — for the tailgate, the campsite, the sideline and the long shivering wait.

FAQs

Why does sitting make me so much colder?

Because you stop generating heat and start losing it faster. At rest your body produces very little warmth, and a cold seat pulls heat straight out of you through direct contact — which is far more efficient than air. It's why you can feel fine walking around and be genuinely miserable ten minutes after sitting down.

Heated chair or heated seat cushion?

Depends on whether you bring your own seat. A heated chair is a chair you carry — camping, tailgating, a sideline with no seating. A heated cushion goes on top of a seat that's already there: a bleacher, a stadium seat, an office chair, a car. If there'll always be somewhere to sit, the cushion is lighter, cheaper, and more versatile.

How long does the battery last?

It depends on the setting, and manufacturers quote run time from the lowest one. Some seats run off a USB power bank you supply, which means you can extend the day simply by carrying a bigger battery — worth looking for if you're out for a full game or a long evening around a fire.

Can I use one in the rain or snow?

Check the water resistance before you buy. An outdoor seat lives a hard life — wet grass, snow, spilled drinks — and a heated chair that can't handle damp is a heated chair for one season. Look for a design you can wipe down and a rating that acknowledges the weather it'll actually meet.
