FAQs

What's the difference between 12V, USB and battery-powered cushions?

Where the power comes from, and it decides where you can use it. A 12V cushion plugs into a car and never runs out. A USB model runs off a power bank you supply, so you control the run time by choosing the battery. A self-contained battery cushion is the most portable and the most limited. Buy for where you'll actually sit.

Will a stadium cushion work in my car?

It'll work, but it's a compromise. Stadium cushions are built for portability, padding and water resistance on a cold wet bench. Car seat covers are shaped to the seat and draw 12V from the vehicle, so they never run out. Using one for the other means giving up the thing that made it good.

How quickly do they warm up?

Most warm noticeably within a few minutes, which is one of the reasons they work so well — you feel the difference before you've settled in. Full heat takes a little longer. Check the individual product page; warm-up time varies with power source and heating element size.

Do I need padding as well as heat?

On a hard bleacher, yes — comfort and warmth are the same problem. A thin heated pad on a metal bench fixes the cold and not the ache, and after three hours the ache is what you'll remember. If you're sitting on something hard for a long time, cushioning isn't a luxury.
