Absolutely. Plenty of customers use heated vests and heated socks in drafty homes, cold offices, garages, and workshops. Just use a lower heat setting indoors — you'll get far longer battery life and it's more comfortable.

Battery life depends on the product, the battery capacity, and the heat setting you use. As a general rule: high heat runs about 2–3 hours, medium about 4–6 hours, and low about 6–10+ hours. Larger-capacity batteries extend all of those numbers.

Voltage determines how much heat the garment can produce and how much area it can cover. Higher voltage means more heat and more coverage — but also a bigger, heavier, more expensive battery.

• 3V — Small, light, focused warmth. Used in heated socks, insoles, and slippers where you only need to heat a small area.
• 5V — Powered by standard USB power banks. Great everyday warmth for moderate cold, and the battery can double as a phone charger. Typically supports 3–4 heating panels.
• 7V (7.4V) — The most common standard for heated jackets, vests, and gloves. Noticeably hotter than 5V, heats up faster, and supports more heating panels with good all-day portability.
• 12V — The most heat and the widest coverage. Most 12V gear is designed for motorcycle riders and wires directly into the bike's electrical system, though some 12V rechargeable batteries exist. Best heat, worst portability.

For most people, 7V is the sweet spot — it's the standard for jackets, vests, and gloves, and it balances heat, run time, and battery size. Choose 5V if you want a battery that also charges your phone or you're mainly in moderate cold. Choose 3V for socks and footwear. Choose 12V only if you're riding a motorcycle and can wire into the bike.

No — never mix voltages. A battery must match the voltage the garment was designed for. Using a higher-voltage battery can overheat the panels, damage the garment, and void your warranty. Always use the battery that came with the product or an approved replacement of the same voltage.

They are not. 5V batteries typically use USB connectors while 7V batteries use a DC barrel plug, and the garments are wired for one or the other. Check your product manual or the label on your battery before buying a replacement.

Usually yes, but the power bank needs to deliver enough current — most 5V heated garments draw 1.2–2.0A, so you want a bank rated for at least 2A sustained output. Cheap low-output power banks may cut off under load or fail to heat properly. A 5V 10,000mAh bank is a good all-around match.

Some batteries — especially 5V and many 7V models — have a USB output that can charge a phone. Keep in mind that charging a device pulls from the same battery, so your heating time will drop.

Lithium batteries must go in your carry-on, never in checked luggage. Most heated apparel batteries fall well under airline watt-hour limits, but check with your airline before you fly and keep the battery in its original packaging or a protective case.

Charge it to roughly 50–60% and store it somewhere cool and dry — not a hot garage or a freezing shed. Top it back up every few months. Storing a lithium battery fully drained for long periods is the fastest way to kill it.

Most heated clothing is machine washable once the battery is removed. Zip all zippers, use cold water on a gentle cycle, and hang dry — never put a heated garment in the dryer or dry clean it. Always follow the care instructions included with your specific product.

Most orders ship from our Philadelphia warehouse in the Manayunk neighborhood. For some items or larger orders we also use partner warehouses across the country to speed up delivery.

Eligible items can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery. Items should be in new or like-new condition with original packaging. During the holidays, orders placed between November 15 and December 24 can be returned through January 31.
