These grippers work well if they stay on. They have to be pushed on to the widest part of the boot, and the strap has to be tight. I don't think they would work on boots smaller than Womens 8, because the straps won't tighten more. They are easier to put on and keep track of, though, than YakTraks, which fall off your boot unnoticed until it's too late.

Just purchased 2 pairs of walk tractions for icy conditions. They are extremely easy to use and seem to work well on ice. I learned that you do have to place them toward your ankle just past the widest part of your shoe or they have a tendency to slip forward and off. I do hope the rubber will withstand the stretching required to tighten the straps sufficiently. So far, so good. They are very portable and easy to carry in your coat pocket as needed.
