bought these gloves especially for skiing. they are adequate for most unless they get wet. there is absolutely no water blockage. after a short time in wet snow they absorb so much water they can literally be wrung out. due to the poor water resistance if you get snow on the fabric it tends to stick to it and transfer the cold to your fingers.
they do quite well otherwise if the snow is dry and the temperature is well below freezing.
