I bought these boots originally to use Ice Fishing in Northern Minnesota. As the years went by they were perfect for fall and winter Deer Hunting in Northern Michigan, snowmobiling, Snow blowing, and most certainly ice fishing. The boots are warm and water resistant to the level above calf. I never have worried about pulling auger up on lake after punching holes and water making feet wet....these are great. The grip is good on snow...but don't feel there is a boot made that grips ice with dusting of snow....just slip on cleats...that's why they make them.
