    Wonderful - So Far!

I have a pair of Hestra Patrol Mitts that are ~ 6 years old. I am 71, still skiing at a high level. I suffer from mild Renaud's Syndrome, so keeping my hands warm is essential. I have used chemical warmers when it's cold for many years but this year I finally dropped the $$ on these, so glad I did! My mitts are size 10, so that's what I ordered and the fit is perfect. The liners construction/stitching have the usual Hestra excellence. There is a bit more bulk than with the standard liner, but not enough to effect my grip of poles etc. They are warmer than the standard liners, even without power. I have used setting 1 and two; Setting 2 if my hands are cold to begin with and as soon as they warm up it's back to setting one or off. My batteries function for the periods stated, perhaps better. When the gloves arrived the batteries were stacked which created some bulk over the wrist, I soon realized that I could place them side by side in the compartment and tha solves the problem. I had expected there would be a heating element over the thumb as well over the hand but there is not. It's probably a non issue and simplicity will contribute to longevity. I have used them mostly for walking my dog on the golfcourse/nature area near me, this without the outer mitt as I do not use a leash, and one day of local skiing. I am very happy with the purchase, I expect they give me many years of service. I am off to Jackson Hole and others third week of January, if there is anything to add…
