Every year I've been buying heavier and heavier gloves, and still have been unable to ride for longer than an hour when the temp is below 30. Bar Mitts protect my hands from the wind, which I realized is the main cause of my cold hands. I can wear lighter gloves, which gives me more steering control. The Mitts can be mounted or removed in a couple of minutes. I've worn them in wind chills below 20 degrees.
Just a heads up, you have to think about putting your hands into the hoods, which requires a little more attention.
